Xylowatt is a startup who emerged from a spin-off of the UCL (Louvain-La-Neuve). They invented a revolutionary and breveted industrial process to produce a synthetic biogas from wood waste (biomass) and based through a process of gasification.

 CONTEXT OF THE PROJECT:

Xylowatt has built a new unit for the Hospital of Mont-Godinne (at Yvoir). The objective on the long term was to feed the actual gas engine of the hospital by a biogas to feed in outlet the different buildings of the hospital in electricity hot and cold. (trigeneration)

ECV (Eiffage group) had the responsibility to deliver the control system (electricity + automation).

 ACHIEVEMENTS:

My main tasks were to:

• Follow-up of the integrator (ECV Etelsys division of Eiffage group)

• Software development follow-up

• Commissioning follow-up

• Coordination between internals, engineering office, vendor (integrator), suppliers

• Change requirements managements from solution to implementation (autom/elec)

• Support process engineers (Ops team) & pilots

• Reporting to Head of engineering

Project : Building of a gas factory feeding the hospital Mont-Godinne in electricity, hot and cold water.

The gas is a synthetic gas generated from the biomass gazification and conditioned prior to be send to a combined heat power engine.
