Grégoire Bastien

I am a BI consultant since 2006 and specialized in Cognos and Datastage developement.

I have worked in many fields like banking, industry, pharmaceutical sector, insurance and even public administration.

I create projects from scratch from database modeling in relation with users, until report and dashboards developement with Cognos. Between those steps, I take care of the ETL processes with Datastage and create Framework Manager models in order to be able to use the data. I work with relational models as well as with dimensional ones.

Administration, portal maintenance and report optimisation and debugging are part of my skills too.

I also have started to work with Microsoft Power BI.

Regarding my way of working, I am very independent and creative (2 years of remote work for a Spanish insurance company between 2013 and 2016). I love to solve issues and do model and report optimization. After 17 years we still learn everyday!

That is also why I decided to write a book about Cognos Report Studio development as there were none in French and I wanted to share knowledge with the community.

Apart from work, I love hiking, climbing and long trips in motorhome, which we did recently with my family.
