With 23 years of experience in strategic communication, Nicole has built a solid career marked by dedication and continuous learning. Nicole began her journey at The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson, where she spent the first decade honing skills in internal and external communication, corporate branding, content strategy and marketing, therapeutic area communications, public relations, campaigns, and social media.
Specialising in R&D Communications, Nicole managed Belgian, European, and global responsibilities. One significant project ‘From Molecule to Medicine’ under her leadership received three prestigious awards: the World Double Gold Medal at the New York Festivals and the Global Awards for the World's Best Work in Healthcare Communications. This achievement highlighted Nicole's capability to lead impactful initiatives.
Nicole also developed programs to engage and educate both internal employees and external stakeholders, reflecting a commitment to fostering effective communication within organizations.
After ten years, Nicole founded her own communication agency, building a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from startups to multinationals. While the agency primarily focused on the healthcare and life sciences sectors, it also served clients in the IT, HR, and consultancy sectors. The agency's expertise in creative content production and campaigns led to successful projects across Belgium, Europe, and the US.
Since the onset of COVID-19, Nicole has primarily worked as a freelance communication expert, collaborating with companies like Pfizer, Attentia, FTI Consulting and ACE Development & Engineering. Alongside freelance communication work, Nicole pursues a passion for journalism as a freelance health correspondent for Belgium at Euractiv. This role allows Nicole to stay deeply connected with current trends in healthcare, blending strategic communication expertise with a dedication to informative and impactful journalism.
